Craps
Craps is a popular casino game played with two dice on a special craps table and where players then bet on the outcome that they expect. The player who throws the dice is is called the shooter. Players can place their bets on the table. Newbies will find it hard to know what to bet, because a craps table has a lot of betting options. But beginners do not have to know everything yet.
When all the bets are places, the shooter will throw the dice. This first throw is called the come out throw. If the shooter throws a total of 7 or 11 he wins immediately. This is called a natural. But when the shooter throws a total of 2,3 or 12, he loses immediately. This is called craps. Every other outcome is the player’s point, and the shooter will have to continue throwing until he throws the point again, or throws a 7. If the shooter throws his point the first time he wins. This is called making the point. But when he throws a 7 the first time after a point, he loses. This is called a seven out. When the shooter’s throw gives a winning outcome, the dice pass. And when the shooter’s throw gives a losing outcome the dice miss.
When a player places his chips on the pass line option on the table, he will win with an outcome of 7 or 11. And when a point is made, the player will also win when the shooter makes his point. The house edge on this bet is about 1.414%. This is quite high for a casino game. The pass line bet is the most played bet, and almost everyone places a bet on the pass line. A beginner can play this bet frequently, and learn the game by playing it. There is also an option that players bet against the shooter, and place their bets on the don’t pass option. The house edge for this option is 1.402%.
As soon as a natural, craps, seven, or the point is thrown by the shooter, a new round is played. The players can place their bets again, and the shooter starts with a new throw. When the shooter throws seven out, the dice will be passed to another player, who becomes the new shooter.
