Australia to ban populair poker sites
The site WikiLeak.org released a blacklist of 2.395 sites, that the Australian government is planning to permanently remove. These sites are offensive sites such as childpornagraphy, extreme violence or bestiality. But also non-offensive sites such as YouTube videos, WikiLeaks entries and poker sites.
In 2001 the Australian Internet Gambling Act came in place, but only recently the Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) became more strict about restricting offensive and illegal sites. Including in the blacklists poker sites are PokerStars who sponsors two large poker tournaments in Australia yearly, and Full Tilt Poker. But also sites who include hyperlinks to banned sites are banned. The government is said to expand the number of sites on the blacklist to more than 10.000.
