Playboy Casino has to shut down

The online casino Playboy Casino, which uses the software of CryptoLogic, has recently said that they will shut down on the 29th of January. Playboy Gaming, the company that owns Playboy Casino, has said that they will shut down because they can not manage to attract enough players. Since they have launched in 2007, the year that Playboy Casino was launched, Playboy Gaming has not been able to make much profit.

Playboy Gaming used more money for advertising, than they received afterwards. The CEO of Playboy Gaming has said that they find it very sad that they can not manage to continue a couple of months longer. Because it looks like the prospects of online gambling in America are positive with Obama as the new president.

Each player is given a large “ Keno Board ” marked with 80 numbers. The goal is to match as much numbers as possible of the 20 balls drawn at random every round. Keno ball drawing occurs at the Keno booth and is typically determined by one of four devices:

  • “AKV”: automated blower in which the balls are encoded, read by a computer, then sent to a computerized keno system for processing

The Buy Bet reduces the house edge by increasing the player’s chances of winning. “Buy” refers to the action of “buying” numbers. Buy Bets can be placed on 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 but most people only bet on 4 and 10 which are the more rewarding numbers. A very important rule to know in Buy Bets as in Place Bets is that the number you pick has to be rolled before 7. Probabilities in Buy Bets are higher than in Place Bets: if 4 or 10 rolls, the payout is 2:1. If 5 or 9 rolls, the payout is 3:2 and if 6 or 8 rolls, the payout is 6:5.
The negative aspect for this bet is that you pay a 5% vig-up front in exchange for receiving a true payoff if it wins.
The vig is figured on the amount wagered. However, despite the vig, Buy Bets can be rewarding depending on the amount you bet. Following the statistics, Buy Bets are recommended on 4 and 10 while Place Bets are advisable for any other numbers.
